Mario's Shawl

 

Our beloved Mario isn't here to encourage me any longer but somehow I can still hear him. Which led to a shawl inspired by his encouragement, I miss him so much. 

After pulling out a UFO, I found the queens shawl I had OTN from 2012 for him. I’ve been working on it and remembering compilations we did, Lovers Fire red stands out the most. Then our own pattern I designed. Anyway, the best advice (and thing I still need to hear) was, to just do it. We’d be texting and I’d tell him I was scared to publish, no one would want it blah, blah, blah. He was great at getting me out of my insecurities.

This MKAL is a 6 wedge multi colored sock, patterning is … i guess the best word is thick. In order that you can see it over the riotous color. Shawl begins with a collar and builds from there ending in a new bind off. 

YARN

Siren Fine Sock 85/15 sw merino/nylon, so soft it feels like cashmere.

Milky Silky Sock 70/20/10 sw merino/silk/cashmere.

Both are about 430 yards per 100g. You will receive 3 skeins.

CLOSURE


A pin to close up our collar, banked on either side by our angels. The one on the right is Mario, I'm on the left, 2 sheepums and in the center Pixie #1 is the bunny which is in there for weight.

We hope to open on March 22 with a clue a week coming out thereafter. Pattern is on Ravelry, please allow 4-6 weeks for order processing. Each order will contain everything seen here. If we run out of any charm, equal or greater value will be substituted.
